A Billionaire Athlete
May 25th 2009 05:24
In a move yesterday the Cleveland Cavaliers agree to a deal witch would make a Chinese Investment group headed by JianHua Huang who has made sponsorship deals also with the New York Yankees. Could own 15% of the Cavaliers and become minority owner of the Cleveland team. Just another company selling out to foreign investors just because of the money. Now how this has to do with a billionaire athlete well Lebron James has stated many times he would like to become the first athlete to be a billionaire sorry Lebron but that will be Tiger Woods. James who is schedule to become a free agent in 2010 likely considering a mass market such as LA or New York to play in to help achieve his goal. But now the Cav's should be able to pay him what he wants I mean the chinese already has given america so much why couldn't they give Cleveland a little bit more. If you watch game 1 and game 2 you might have noticed the Huang was siting in one of the courtside seats watching the game and got to see Lebron hit the game-winning shot in game 2.
The NBA wants to help build the sport into a international phenomon witch this can help and has been pushing for a forign group to buy in to a team. So If Huang wants to help Cleveland build a winner and not just be able to use Lebron to market him in China. I say pay the man his money and let him become the greatest player since Michael Jordan.
